Just tried it om my i-mate PDA-N. It all seems to work until I send an IR command, or try to learn an IR command and read the command on IR. It sends a IR command (my TV switched off when I pressed the On button). Then it freezes my PDA with a blank screen, or with a screen with color bars. After that I need to reset my PDA with the reset button. It won't even switch of anymore with the Power button.

I tested with TV device Panasonic 1.

It autodetects my IR as COM2: S2410 IRDA 2410.

Additional to my previous post:
It works fine when I switch off the wireless network (WLAN). Other applications with IR seem to work OK with the combination Wireless network and IR.
Range is very limited, probably 3 to 5 feet (1 to 1,5 meter).

Just bought the 3.5 version on hp/iPAQ site. It might be my imagination but the range of IR seems to be a bit better than with the first beta version(is there a difference?). Range seems to be about 2 or 3 feet instead of 1. Offcourse this isn't nearly good enough, but maybe it's a limitation of the device and not the software.

The range depends on the sensitivity of infrared receiver of your TV set, cable box, Audio, etc.

However, HP IPAQ devices such as h1930, 1935, 1940, 1945, hx1950 and 1955 are known as devices with a very limited power of their infrared ports Sad

hi, downloaded v3.5 onto my new ipaq rx1950. Thought program or ir weren't working until I read this post. My range is 3m without wireless and 600mm with. Sadly not a lot of use for a couch potato! Sad
I now need to see if I canget refund from ipaqchoice.

Thank you so much! As far as I know, you now hold the one and *only* infrared remote control for iPaq rx1955, and I'm more than glad about that!

The only thing is that as I'm a PPC software developer myself, I haven't figured out what you (the Novii Team) did in order to use the rx1955 IR device, but I guess you can't tell that either, since it must be classified/company secret Confused
